So far, we have set weekly tasks for the children, and issued ‘Special Agent’ books to record their findings.

In weeks one and two the task was …”to write down which part of the playground you have been in, and whether you have seen any really nice playing. What did you see that was nice? (Kindness, taking turns, sharing, letting others join in for example)”

The purpose was to try and focus the children on the positive aspects of the school, so that they would be able to understand their role as ‘peacekeepers’.

The third week’s objective was…” to plan for an assembly in three weeks’ time. It cannot be a PowerPoint, but could be a short play or series of speakers. Write down your ideas”

This objective is ongoing, and as part of this the children filmed short video clips of interviews with one another, saying why they became anti-bullying ambassadors, and their thoughts on bullying. We are awaiting technical assistance to get these from the Ipads into the presentation.

The children have also organised a poetry competition, a few entries were received and the winner will be announced shortly. All the poems will be reproduced in a booklet for pupils.

We have also done ‘Runaround’ style quiz, where pupils had multiple choice questions about ‘what is bullying?’; also scenarios ‘What would you do?’. The children enjoyed an active way of selecting their ‘corner’ to indicate their answer.

We watched an interactive video, where the children could choose from various options as to what should happen next. They all demonstrated that they would act appropriately in a bullying situation.

We are planning ahead for anti- bullying week, and have some ideas which we will continue to work on.
